Victoria & Anthony's East Court Wedding

Katie Battie September 28, 2019

Victoria & Anthony are every wedding photographer’s dream couple, relaxed, fun, photogenic and with a wealth of fantastic friends and family.

Prior to the wedding we had met up a couple of times and ‘just clicked’ so I knew that I would be in for a fantastic day and I wasn’t disappointed!

After a lovely morning at Victoria’s Mums house we all made our way to the beautiful St Swithun’s church in East Grinstead.  I don’t get to photograph many church weddings but it’s always a treat when I do and St Swithun’s is stunning.

I was lucky enough to be granted access to the balcony at the back of the church as well as the altar at the front so was able to get some fantastic images of both the happy couple and the beautiful building.

After the service we all made our way to The East Court Estate which is located among rolling parkland in the Sussex countryside and offers gorgeous panoramic views with Ashdown Forest in the distance.

The weather was kind to us and the majority of guests made their way outside to enjoy the enclosed paved piazza and the amazing views it offered.

During the afternoon we chose to take advantage of the stunning elegance of the 18th century Mansion so used this as a backdrop for group photos, Victoria and Anthony didn’t want an abundance of these so it was just them and immediate family.

After the group photos I took the couple and their 3 year old daughter Elle off for a mini photoshoot - they had had a cute little sign made which read ‘Finally Mummy is one of us!’ and Elle waved it about with pride!

A huge part of their day was Victoria finally having the same surname as Anthony and their 3 year old daughter Elle and to for them to officially  become a family of 5 with Anthony’s two older children.  The latter played a huge part in their first dance when the newly married couple invited the two older children to join them for their first dance, it was a beautiful moment and I’m not ashamed to say that it brought a tear to my eye!
