Leanne & Alfie's Southdowns Manor Wedding

Katie Battie March 25, 2019

This blog is going to be short and sweet, the pictures tell their own story, enjoy!

I had the pleasure of photographing my second wedding of 2019 at the stunning Southdowns Manor which is situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

This beautiful Manor House provides a relaxed and intimate haven for smaller events so was perfect for Leanne and Alfie’s dream wedding.

I first met Leanne and Alfie at their home in Crawley where I bonded with their beautiful son Arlo over a Peppa Pig game that my four year old insisted I have on my phone.

I was immediately excited about their wedding, even though I was only needed for 3 hours they gave me very clear instructions to enjoy myself and take candid shot after candid shot – heaven!

When I arrived at this stunning venue I found all of the guests in the bar area in really high spirits and I set to work immediately documenting the fun atmosphere.

I split my time between the bar and upstairs where Leanne was finishing getting ready.

Laid back doesn’t describe Leanne’s mood, she was smiling from ear to ear at the prospect of being about to marry her childhood sweetheart and soul mate!

The wedding service was stunning and full to the brim with emotion – Yes!

Sadly the weather outside wasn’t quite as sunny as the atmosphere inside so we chose to do the all important confetti shots inside in the beautiful conservatory area which was so perfect that it seems to have been designed specifically for this.

We braved the cold and headed outside for the group and family formal photos.

Once everyone else had gone back in to the warmth, the newly married couple, Arlo and I took 10 minutes to get some truly beautiful photos of the 3 of them.

After this it was back inside for loads more candid shots and I took the opportunity to photograph all of the little details that were so important to Leanne such as the sweet cart, table centrepieces etc.
